Zebra DS8108 Corded Handheld QR Code Scanner
As a retailer, you know that the checkout experience is crucial for your business—it's your last chance to make a good impression on your customers. The quality of the checkout experience largely depends on the performance of the scanner you choose. If cashiers need to scan barcodes multiple times or input unreadable barcodes manually, the checkout process quickly becomes hindered, leading to longer queues and wait times. Cashiers have to focus on recording items, neglecting to provide an exceptional in-store experience for customers. Now, with Zebra's DS8108 handheld imager, you can leave a great impression on every customer. The DS8108 barcode scanner significantly enhances the performance of conventional imagers, offering unprecedented one-dimensional and two-dimensional barcode scanning capabilities, innovative efficiency-enhancing tools, and unmatched manageability. The DS8108 barcode scanner can help you speed up the checkout process, allowing your cashiers to provide a more personalized checkout experience. — A product to improve the checkout experience.
Zebra DS8108 Corded 2D Barcode Scanner Features:
1. Unmatched superior performance, capable of scanning any barcode under almost any conditions
Only the DS8108 combines an 800 MHz microprocessor, a high-resolution megapixel sensor, and Zebra's exclusive PRZM technology. Thanks to this unique combination of hardware and advanced algorithms, the DS8108 scanner can instantly capture most problematic barcodes— including dense, poor print quality, creased, faded, distorted, dirty, or damaged ones, as well as electronic barcodes displayed on dim screens.
2. Exceptional scanning range
Scanning range up to 24 inches/61 cm, with high-resolution imaging scanner and a bright "focal point" enhancing checkout speed. Now, cashiers in busy checkout environments can easily scan items from customers' shopping carts without leaving the checkout counter.
3. PRZM Intelligent Imaging
Zebra's exclusive PRZM technology sets a new standard for imaging performance. Poor images are instantly transformed into useful ones for faster decoding. PRZM then performs some processing typically done in decoders to reduce power consumption, enhance battery life, and further increase decoding speed.
4. Support for future barcodes — Digimarc®*
The DS8108 scanner supports Digimarc digital watermark technology, enabling barcodes to be repeatedly printed on all surfaces of a product, just like a watermark—visible even to the naked eye. Cashiers no longer need to search and locate the barcode within the camera's field of view, thereby achieving faster checkout times and simplified self-checkout.
5. One press of the scan trigger collects multiple barcodes
Multi-code Data Formatting (MDF) enables the collection of multiple barcodes and the transmission of data in the accurate sequence required by the application.
6. Instantly capture full-page documents
The DS8108 barcode scanner is a device that can capture full-page documents among its peers. With just one press of the scan trigger, Zebra's intelligent document capture and a high-resolution 1280 x 960 camera can capture high-resolution images of full-page 8.5 x 11 or A4 documents, and transmit the data in the correct format for electronic storage—eliminating the cost and space requirements of document scanners.
7. Collect Driver's License Data (DL Version Required)
Press the scan trigger just once, and the cashier can collect and interpret data from the driver's license to automatically fill loyalty or credit card applications, and to verify age for age-restricted purchases.
8. Direct decoding instructions have improved efficiency.
The flickering auxiliary light on the barcode indicates decoding is complete, allowing staff to continue without pausing to ensure the barcode is correctly captured.
9. Control your scanner via smartphone, tablet, or PC.
Through this user-friendly app, you can control the imaging device's buzzer, vibration, and LED to set user alerts; display scanned barcode data; access model and serial numbers; and access battery statistics from Android, iOS, and Windows smartphones, tablets, and PCs.
10. Easily manage all your scanners with powerful complementary tools
With 123Scan, you can easily create configuration barcodes to program scanners. If your imager is located domestically or at multiple global locations, using the Scanner Management Service (SMS), you can configure and update the firmware of DS8100 series devices inserted into the host—without the need for a service station setup or user intervention—such as scanning a configuration barcode.
11. Simplified Application Development
Through our scanner software development kit (SDK) for Windows, Android, iOS, and Linux, we provide everything you need to seamlessly integrate scanning into your business applications. These SDKs offer documentation, drivers, test utilities, and sample source code.
