Choose the optical system structure and magnification range of the telescope based on your intended use.
The ultimate goal of purchasing a telescope is for comfortable use, so determining the primary purpose is crucial; it dictates the choice and subsequent steps. Imagine, if the main use is to watch sports events, opting for a large telescope with a PCF structure would be cumbersome and heavy, making it difficult to hold for long without your wrist aching, which hardly sets a good mood for enjoying the game.
Additionally, a higher magnification isn't always better, as it not only enlarges your field of view but also magnifies the tremors of your hands. Generally, the suitable magnification for handheld observation on land is between 6-12 times. Beyond 12 times, due to the reduced field of view and entrance pupil diameter, hand movements are also magnified significantly, making handheld observation quite challenging. This is why most telescopes fall within this magnification range (some marine telescopes can reach 15-20 times).
