II. Working Principle
Hot water (cold water) supplied by a heat source enters the heat exchange system (radiator, heat exchanger, or a complex system composed of them) at a higher (lower) temperature and exits at a lower (higher) temperature. During this process, heat is released or absorbed from/to the user through heat exchange (Note: This process includes the energy exchange in heating and cooling systems).
As water flows through the heat exchange system, the calculator computes and displays the heat released or absorbed by the system based on the flow rate provided by the flow sensor, the supply and return water temperatures from the matching temperature sensor, and the duration of the water flow.

V. Selection Considerations
Flow Rate Range in Flow Measurement
When testing clean media, the economic flow rate is 1.5~3 m/s; for crystallizing solutions, the flow rate should be appropriately increased to 3~4 m/s, which serves to self-clean and prevent adhesion and deposition. In actual applications, rates rarely exceed 7 m/s, and those over 10 m/s are even rarer.


High-temperature type
When the fluid temperature is between (60~160)°C, it is mandatory to use a high-temperature lining. Rubber linings are not suitable for fluids with temperatures above 60°C.
Instrument structure
When the instrument is installed below ground level, a split-type must be chosen, with an IP68 structure. If the instrument inevitably needs to be installed at the pump's outlet, please select an instrument with a split-type structure.

VII. Installation Requirements
1. The pipeline must be cleaned before installing the heat meter.
2. The calorimeter is a precision instrument; it must be handled with care during installation. Do not pull or tug on the meter head or sensor wires; do not compress the temperature sensors to prevent damage to the instrument.
3. The arrow on the sensor housing indicates the direction of water flow; theoretically, it should not be installed upside down.
4. The front end of the heat meter pipeline must be equipped with a filter of the corresponding size.
5. When installing flow sensors for heat meters, ensure there is a straight section of pipe with a length of at least 10 times the pipe diameter upstream of the heat meter, and at least 5 times the pipe diameter downstream.
6. Both ends of the heat meter must be fitted with valves of the appropriate size, which can be disconnected from the heat meter for cleaning and maintenance during its operation.
