Description

Industrial elbow wear has always been a factor affecting safe and civilized production. With the continuous development of science and technology, materials have also evolved, leading to the emergence of cast stone, cast steel, alloys, centrifugal casting composite ceramics, and other materials. Among them, alumina ceramic liners for pipes, with their high wear resistance, high hardness, excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance, as well as high strength performance under extreme temperatures, have become a widely used abrasive material, accounting for about 80% of the world's special ceramic market share (abrasive materials).

Wear-resistant elbows are made by bonding special alumina wear-resistant ceramic tiles to the interior of steel pipe elbows with high-temperature, strong adhesive, solving the severe wear issue in elbows of material conveying in industries such as power generation, metallurgy, steel, and cement. This method combines the use of steel pipe elbows and ceramic tiles for a comprehensive solution, facilitating quick replacement and construction. Depending on working conditions, different production processes can be employed, including direct bonding, bolted clamping, or integrated molding. The integrated molding process for medium pipe elbows (RHS) involves using selected alumina particles to burn the inner lining pipes through various shaping methods, followed by casting the integrated molding pipes inside the steel pipes with a special filling material. Pipes formed using this method differ from ceramic composite pipes formed by self-combustion technology, as the ceramic crystals in the inner lining are identical to those of the bonded tiles. The advantages are smooth inner pipe walls and excellent wear resistance, making them suitable for high-quality conveying and ash removal systems with stringent material requirements.


The ceramic assembly method, known as bolt-clamping, employs a triple fixation technique: adhesive bonding, ceramic sheet interlocking, and bolt clamping. Due to the triple fixation, the ceramic becomes an integral part of the equipment, ensuring that it will not detach even at temperatures above 1000°C. In recent years, with the rapid development of China's power construction and the continuous promotion of new technologies and materials, wear-resistant elbows have been applied in dozens of new power plant projects across the country, demonstrating excellent performance and receiving widespread promotion.

Centrifugal casting composite pipes are manufactured using the "self-igniting high-temperature synthesis-hyper-speed centrifugal technology," forming a uniform, dense, and smooth ceramic layer and transition layer under high temperature and high-speed conditions. Moreover, the ceramic, at working temperatures of 850 to 900 degrees Celsius, does not fall off, and they are relatively lightweight. The composite ceramic resists wear with its hardness, solving the past issue of relying on thickness for wear resistance. Currently, these pipes are highly effective in industries with severe wear, such as straight pipes, elbows, bends, tees, and more.

Composite pipes, by fully utilizing the high strength, good toughness, impact resistance, and excellent welding properties of steel pipes, as well as the high hardness, high wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and good heat resistance of alumina ceramic, overcome the shortcomings of steel pipes such as low hardness, poor wear resistance, and the poor toughness of ceramics. Therefore, composite pipes have excellent comprehensive properties including good wear resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and resistance to mechanical and thermal shocks, as well as good weldability. They are suitable for conveying abrasive, corrosive, and other wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant pipeline materials.
