Lightning rods are typically made of round steel or steel pipes, with diameters not less than the following: ① Independent lightning rods usually use 19mm galvanized round steel. ② Roof-mounted lightning rods use 25mm galvanized steel pipes. ③ Lightning rods at the top of water towers use 25mm or 40mm galvanized steel pipes. ④ Lightning rods on chimney tops use 25mm galvanized round steel or 40mm galvanized steel pipes. Lightning rings are made of 12mm galvanized round steel or 100mm² galvanized flat steel, with a thickness of 4mm.
 

9. Round steel or welded steel pipes should be used, with diameters not less than the following: For needles less than 1m in length: round steel 12mm, steel pipe 20mm; for needles 1-2m in length: round steel 16mm, steel pipe 25mm; for needles at the top of chimneys: round steel 20mm, steel pipe 40mm.
