The strength of spiral seam pipes is generally higher than that of longitudinal seam pipes. They can produce larger diameter pipes with narrower billets and different diameter pipes with the same width billets. However, compared to pipes of the same length with longitudinal seams, the weld length increases by 30~99.99%, and the production speed is slower. Therefore, small diameter pipes mostly use longitudinal welding, while large diameter pipes usually employ spiral welding.
