Hexagonal wire mesh baskets are woven from metal wire, forming a box with angular shapes (hexagonal mesh). The diameter of the metal wire used varies with the size of the hexagon. For metal-coated metal wire hexagons, a wire diameter of 2.0mm to 4.0mm is used. For hexagonal mesh woven with PVC-coated metal wire, a PVC (metal) wire with an outer diameter of 3.0mm to 4.0mm is utilized. The wire used for the frame edges is one size thicker than the hexagonal mesh wire.

Box-type gabions are constructed from large-sized hexagonal wire mesh, simply fill the stones into the cage and seal it during construction.
