Waterstop steel plate (waterstop steel) refers to pre-burying a 300mm x 3m steel plate during the pouring of the lower concrete layer, with 10-15cm of the upper part exposed. During the subsequent concrete pouring, this steel plate section is incorporated to prevent external water pressure from seeping in. Consequently, the waterstop steel plate requires good welding joints without any leakage points to maintain its waterproofing performance.
1. Strive to position the waterstop steel plate in the centerline of the wall.
2. The welding between the two steel plates must be full and double-sided, with the overlap not less than 20mm.
3. Wall corner treatment: 1. Full sheet steel bending; 2. T-shaped welding; 3. 7-shaped welding.
4. The support welding of the waterstop steel plate can be done by spot welding small rebars onto the main reinforcement.
5. When the waterstop steel plate passes through the column hoop reinforcement, the hoop reinforcement can be cut to form an open hoop, which is then welded onto the steel plate.
6. The "opening" of the waterstop steel plate faces the upstream side.
