Waterstop steel plate (waterstop steel) refers to embedding a 300mm x 3m steel plate during the pouring of the lower concrete layer, with 10-15cm of the top exposed. During the subsequent concrete pouring, this exposed steel plate section is incorporated into the mix to prevent external water pressure from seeping in. Consequently, the waterstop steel plate requires high-quality welding joints to avoid any leakage points, which could compromise the waterproofing performance.
1. Efforts should be made to position the waterstop steel plate along the centerline of the wall.
2. The welding between the two steel plates must be full and double-sided, with the overlap not less than 20mm.
3. Wall corner treatment: 1. Full steel plate bending; 2. T-shaped welding; 3. 7-shaped welding.
4. The support welding of waterstop steel plates can be spot-welded to the main reinforcement with small rebars.
5. When the waterstop steel plate passes through the column hoop reinforcement, the hoop reinforcement can be cut and shaped into an open hoop, then welded onto the steel plate.
6. The "opening" of the waterstop steel plate faces the upstream side.
