Pavement stamping, also known as patterned concrete, is a series of stamped concrete flooring with unique pattern frames cast in place and formed as a single unit. It features colored stamping materials in precast concrete surfaces using special molds, produced with advanced technology and strict construction management. It showcases a variety of patterns and rich color changes, offering wear-resistant, pressure-resistant, and anti-slip properties, along with the characteristic of being one-piece formed. It has multiple practical applications.

1. Weather conditions during the installation of decorative paving can significantly impact the quality of the work. Construction should be avoided during rainy, snowy, windy, sandy, or frozen weather. In areas with large temperature differences between day and night, construction is prohibited at night. The ambient temperature should generally be above 2°C. A favorable construction environment is essential to ensure the quality of the decorative paving. It is advisable to avoid cross-construction with other work teams and, if necessary, the construction site should be enclosed. Gravel and bare soil foundations must be compacted or tamped by a roller.
2. The concrete strength of the subgrade for embossed flooring should be ≥ C25, with the water-cement ratio as small as possible and without any early-strength admixture.
3. The thickness of the concrete must be consistent, with the base concrete thickness being 5cm or more. The maximum particle size of the coarse aggregate in the concrete should be ≤1.5cm. For concrete less than 10cm thick, use a flat vibrator for compaction; for concrete 10cm or thicker, use an internal vibrator.
4. After concrete vibration, use a heavier steel long roller (the roller should be at least 0.3 meters wider than the concrete slab mold) to repeatedly roll and compact the platform to achieve a level surface. When rolling the platform, remove any foreign objects from the steel roller. After the concrete is floated, ensure there are no sand or stone particles on the surface. In areas where steel roller work is not possible, use hand floating and a level ruler to scrape the platform level.
5. After the concrete slab is leveled and desalination treatment is completed, the surface is hand-smoothed with a metal plate before initial setting.
Construction Technique
1. Subgrade Treatment: The area should be leveled, compacted, and solidified to achieve the specified compaction density.
Pour concrete into the same color and mold type construction area, and smooth it with a tool. Consider the drainage slope to prevent water accumulation.
Before the initial setting of concrete, smooth the surface with a trowel. Evenly spread the colored printed material over the concrete surface in two to three even layers, following the specified quantity, each time using a specialized trowel for smoothing and polishing.
Evenly scatter demolding agent over the concrete surface in accordance with the prescribed amount.
5 Arrange the specified mold shapes neatly on the concrete surface and make a layout, then proceed with the embossing work.
6 finished floors are being maintained; typically, they can be put into use after 72 hours at a temperature of 25℃.
Construction Precautions:
Construction should be carried out in accordance with the specified requirements. The reinforcing materials and demolding powder to be laid should be stacked and used in the order of the laying direction. Various professional construction tools and molds should also be in good working condition.
The installation of expansion joints must comply with design specifications and be completed within 2-7 days of laying concrete. The spacing between them should not exceed 4 meters, and the depth of the expansion joints is generally about 2/3 of the concrete ground level.
The length of concrete surface layer laid per shift should be coordinated with the colored paving construction, ensuring reasonable coordination. The construction area per shift (based on ten hours) must be controlled at 200m² per team, otherwise, it will directly affect the construction quality.
The surface treatment of the concrete layer must be carried out according to the regulations and design requirements. The surface must achieve the required flatness, slope, and width. Consistency in concrete quality throughout the same project is crucial for maintaining the uniformity of the final overall effect.
5 The reinforced material may clump during transportation; it must be crumbled by hand before being scattered again.
Before molding, it's essential to research and plan the layout and lifting positions and directions of the molding molds to ensure the integrity of the pattern. Lay the first molding mold along the layout pattern reference line and press it vertically into the concrete. Workers can stand on the molding mold, as the weight of the human body is sufficient to create textures on the concrete surface. If necessary, use a special tamping rod for clear molding molds to press the mold vertically into the work surface for a clearer and more realistic pattern. Mastering the timing of the molding process is crucial; too wet or too dry concrete surfaces will affect the final pattern and effect.
Molds must be tightly arranged to prevent the appearance of double seams. After demolding, the pressed areas must be inspected and properly repaired.
8 If encountering walls, corners, or other irregular areas during construction, you can use the exposed corner mold (red soft mold). However, be mindful to ensure it matches and coordinates with the overall pattern.
Mold sets and corner molds are reusable; however, an adequate number of molds (7 pieces per set) must be on hand to enhance construction efficiency.
After construction, the molded flooring surface does not require watering for maintenance, but necessary protection measures must be taken before acceptance and delivery for use.
