Active protection net is a type of flexible net mainly composed of steel wire rope net, which is wrapped around the required protective slope or rock to limit the weathering, peeling or damage of the slope rock and soil, as well as rock collapse (reinforcement effect), or to control the movement of falling rocks within a certain range (enclosure effect).
Construction of active slope protection net
The first two are fixed by steel wire rope anchor rods and/or support ropes, while the latter is fixed by steel bars (pre stressing can be applied) and/or steel wire rope anchor rods (used when there are edge support ropes), anchor pads, and necessary edge support ropes.
The openness of the system allows for free discharge of groundwater, avoiding slope instability caused by the increase in groundwater pressure; In addition to contributing to the stability of the slope, this system can also suppress further weathering and erosion of the slope, and has no special requirements for the morphological characteristics of the slope surface. It does not damage or change the original landform and vegetation growth conditions of the slope surface. Its open characteristics provide necessary conditions for the subsequent or future implementation of artificial slope greening when conditions permit. Green plants can grow freely in their open space, and the soil stabilization effect of plant roots is integrated with the slope protection system, thereby suppressing slope damage and soil erosion, and in turn protecting the landform and slope vegetation, achieving the purpose of slope protection and environmental protection.
