Metal, plastic, ceramic, glass, and any other good conductor of ultrasonic waves, as long as there are two parallel surfaces above and below, can be measured for thickness with this instrument. comply with JJF 1126 Calibration standard for ultrasonic thickness gauge.
This instrument can be used in the industrial production field to accurately detect various materials or parts. Another important aspect is that it can monitor various pipelines and pressure vessels in production equipment, and monitor their degree of thinning after corrosion during use.
IIBasic Principles
The principle of ultrasonic thickness measurement is similar to that of optical wave measurement. The ultrasonic pulses emitted by the probe reach the object being measured and propagate within the object. When they reach the material interface, they are reflected back to the probe, and the thickness of the material being measured is determined by the precise time the sound waves propagate within the material.
