Good adaptability to soil, can grow on mountainous brown soil, red yellow soil, and red calcareous soil. But it has strict requirements for soil moisture and is not tolerant to drought and barrenness, let alone salt alkali and poor drainage. Huashan pine is relatively cold resistant and can grow normally at low temperatures of -7 to -10 ℃, and can also grow at low temperatures of -31 ℃.
