Silver based brazing material is a type of brazing material made of silver or silver based solid solution. It has excellent process performance, low melting point, good wetting ability and the ability to fill gaps, and high strength. Good plasticity, excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance, can be used for brazing all black and non-ferrous metals, such as stainless steel, hard alloys, diamonds and other materials. Widely used in industrial manufacturing fields such as refrigeration, lighting, hardware and electrical appliances, instruments and meters, chemical industry, aerospace, etc.
In order to lower the melting point and reduce the silver content, copper, zinc, cadmium, tin, nickel, etc. are added to form ternary or multicomponent alloy brazing materials. Silver brazing materials are suitable for various brazing methods, but except for brazing in vacuum or protective atmosphere, they generally need to be used together with silver brazing agents to obtain excellent brazing seams.
Silver based brazing materials can be divided into cadmium free brazing materials and cadmium containing brazing materials according to their composition. Cadmium containing brazing materials have certain toxicity and are not suitable for brazing joints that come into direct contact with food or drinking water. The brazing work site needs ventilation.
Before brazing, it is necessary to strictly remove the grease, oxides, etc. on the brazed joint and the surface of the brazing material. The optimal gap for brazed joints is 0.03mm~0.075mm.
