Roller Crusher Introduction

The Roll Crushers, also known as Double Roll Crushers, are older-style crushing equipment. They have a simple structure, less over-crushing, and the tooth shape, size, and arrangement on the roller surface can be adjusted according to the material properties. They are suitable for medium-hard and soft ore crushing, such as in sulfuric acid plants, where the Roll Crushers are typically used for the initial crushing of pyrite, reducing its diameter to 20-30mm. It is then further crushed in a Double Roll Crusher to achieve a diameter of less than 5mm, meeting the requirements of the boiling furnace.

The roller crusher is suitable for fine crushing various high and medium-hard ores and rocks in industrial sectors such as mining, chemical industry, cement, refractory materials, abrasives, and building materials. Particularly in the building materials industry, it produces products like guam stone and mung bean sand, offering superior performance compared to general crushing machinery.

Roller crusher wearing parts

During the operation of the roller crusher, the wear of the vulnerable parts is a concern for customers. The main working component of the roller crusher is the crushing roller, which bears high pressure during operation. Due to the varying nature of the crushing material, the crushing roller tends to experience varying degrees of wear and corrosion after some time. To address this issue, the manufacturer's solution is to surfacing the vulnerable parts with hard alloy, achieving wear, heat, and corrosion resistance. This significantly extends the service life of the crushing roller and saves on maintenance costs.

Roller Break Structure and Performance Features

The roller crusher crushes the material by squeezing it between the two rollers through the feed opening, with the finished material falling naturally. If encountering overly hard or uncrushable objects, the roller of the roller crusher can automatically retreat under the action of the hydraulic cylinder or spring, increasing the gap between the rollers, allowing the hard or uncrushable objects to fall, thereby protecting the machine from damage. The two rollers rotating in opposite directions have a certain gap; by adjusting the gap, the larger particle size of the product can be controlled. The double-roller crusher uses a pair of opposite rotating round rollers, while the four-roller crusher uses two pairs of opposite rotating round rollers for the crushing operation.

1. The roller crusher in this series is primarily composed of roller wheels, roller wheel support bearings, clamping and adjustment devices, as well as the driving mechanism.

2. Material particle size adjustment: Between the two roller wheels, there is a wedge or shim adjustment device installed. The top of the wedge device is equipped with an adjustment bolt. When the adjustment bolt pulls the wedge block upwards, the wedge block pushes the movable roller wheel away from the fixed wheel, thereby increasing the gap between the roller wheels and enlarging the particle size of the material discharged. When the wedge block is lowered, under the action of the compression spring, the two roller wheels come closer together, reducing the gap and decreasing the particle size of the material discharged. The shim device adjusts the particle size by increasing or decreasing the number or thickness of the shims. When more shims are added, the gap between the roller wheels increases, and the particle size of the material discharged enlarges. Conversely, when fewer shims are used, the gap between the roller wheels decreases, and the particle size of the material discharged becomes smaller.

3. The driving mechanism consists of two electric motors, which are transmitted to the groove wheel via a V-belt to drag the roller wheels and rotate in opposite directions. During the crushing process, the material passes through the roller wheels from the feeding opening, gets crushed through rolling, and the finished crushed product is discharged from below the base frame.

4. For safety, the transmission parts should be fitted with safety guards as per actual conditions.

Caution for Roll Crushers

1. Enhance iron removal in the ore supply, as non-crushed materials (such as chisels, etc.) falling into the roller gap can damage the crusher, leading to stoppage accidents. Therefore, an iron removal device should be installed before the crusher.

2. Sticky materials are prone to clog the crushing space. When dealing with clogging issues, parking the machine is necessary; poking at the ore while in operation is prohibited.

3. When handling materials with a high proportion of large pieces, be mindful that these large ore pieces may easily be forced out of the crushing space, potentially causing injury or damaging equipment.

4. After the roll crusher has been running for a long time, due to significant wear on the roller surface, it may cause the product particle size to become too fine. At this point, it is important to adjust the ore discharge opening or carry out maintenance on the equipment.

5. Enhance inspections of the roller crusher, and ensure timely lubrication of the equipment's lubrication points to maintain optimal lubrication condition.
