To ensure the longevity of the same wire rope, it's crucial to maintain its quality and eliminate potential hazards; secondly, regular maintenance of the wire rope during daily use is essential.

The inspection primarily involves checking the wire rope in various aspects before use to ensure its lifting capacity within the specified range. The main method is to examine the extent of wear, deformation, and bending, among other factors, in the wire rope.

After completing the pre-use inspection, it's time to start paying attention to protection and maintenance during use. Maintenance is mainly divided into the following parts:

1. To ensure a long service life for wire ropes, it is essential to use them in a specific manner. The following three practices should be particularly avoided: dragging or throwing them carelessly; suddenly changing the hoisting speed; and frequently subjecting them to impact loads.

2. Gray scale and rust are the archenemies of wire ropes. It is essential to thoroughly clean the gray scale from the wire rope using a wire brush, and then coat every part of the wire rope with oil to prevent rusting.

The lubrication cycle for wire rope is every 4 months, with the oil temperature needing to be around 50°C. The oil should penetrate the entire core of the rope, and any excess oil must be wiped off.

4. Ropes should be coiled neatly during storage, without overlapping and not placed in dirty, damp areas.

To prevent the rope end from becoming loose and untied, it is necessary to tighten or securely weld the top of the wire rope.

6. During use, if oil droplets appear on the surface of the wire rope, it indicates that the rope has exceeded its load capacity. Immediate cessation of use is required, followed by a thorough inspection of the rope. New wire rope may be necessary in some cases.
