In our systems, to reduce circuit arcing and enhance the output of intrinsically safe circuits, we commonly employ transistor protective components or assemblies.
The following protective components are included:
Flow Control Components
To prevent excessive current in a circuit from failing to meet intrinsic safety requirements, a series transistor protection component can be used. Its function is equivalent to a current-limiting resistor or a variable current-limiting resistor, primarily limiting reverse short-circuit current or reverse signal transmission, and can also control the discharge of power supplies, capacitors, and circuits.
Limiting Elements
Zener diodes are commonly used voltage-limiting components. They are employed to restrict the maximum voltage between two points in a circuit, thereby enhancing circuit performance. For instance, they can limit the output voltage of a power supply and the high voltage across capacitor terminals.
Section 3: Precautions for Using Safety Protection Components
In the safety circuit, in addition to achieving dual or triple protection for the parallel分流 protection components, the wiring must also be secure. The coil is not allowed to operate when the分流 component falls off.
2) Inductance coils equipped with分流protection components are placed in hazardous areas. In the event of an internal coil breakage, the parallel protection components fail to activate, leading to the generation of dangerous sparks. Therefore, it is required that分流components be sealed together with the inductance coils or placed within explosion-proof enclosures (such as flameproof or gas-tight enclosures).
