Woven geotextile

Woven geotextiles are made from raw materials such as polypropylene and polypropylene-polyester staple fibers, consisting of at least two sets of parallel yarns (or staple fibers), one set running lengthwise (along the direction of fabric movement) as the warp, and the other set laid horizontally as the weft. Different weaving equipment and techniques are used to interlace the warp and weft to form fabric. They can be woven into different thicknesses and densities depending on the intended use. Generally, woven geotextiles are thin and possess considerable tensile strength in both the warp and weft directions (warp greater than weft), offering excellent stability.

Product Performance

Reinforcing Effect: Used in rock engineering such as highways, railways, airports, stone dams, slope protection embankments, retaining walls, and side dikes, to distribute soil stress, increase soil modulus, restrict soil sliding, and enhance stability.

◎Protective Function: Prevents embankments from being eroded by wind, waves, tides, and rain, and is used for bank protection, slope protection, foundation protection, and to prevent soil and water loss.

◎Filtering Effect: Used as a filter layer in embankments, dams, rivers, coastal rock revetments, slopes, and retaining walls to prevent sand and soil particles from passing through while allowing water or air to flow freely.

Installation and construction precautions for woven geotextiles:

Geotextile can only be cut with a geotextile knife (hook knife). If cutting is done on-site, special protective measures must be taken for other materials to prevent unnecessary damage due to cutting the geotextile.

While laying the geotextile, all necessary measures must be taken to prevent damage to the underlying layer of materials.

When laying geotextile, it is essential to avoid allowing substances such as stones, excessive dust, or moisture that could damage the geotextile, block the drainage channels or filter mesh, or cause difficulties in subsequent connections to enter the geotextile or beneath it.

After installation, visually inspect all geotextile surfaces to identify any damaged areas, mark them, and make repairs. Ensure the laying surface is free of foreign materials that could cause damage, such as broken needles or other debris.

The connection of geotextiles must adhere to the following regulations: Normally, there should be no horizontal connections on the slope surface (connections must follow the contour of the slope without intersecting it), except for the repair areas.

If stitched, the stitching thread must be made of material the same as or better than the geotextile, and should be resistant to chemical and UV rays. There should be a clear color difference between the stitching thread and the geotextile for easy inspection.
