In exterior wall decoration, the installation of the external wall thermal insulation system is technical and something construction masters are reluctant to undertake. However, rock wool insulation materials are flame-retardant. Insulating materials can meet A-grade fire resistance standards. How can the quality of the exterior wall rock wool thermal insulation panels be ensured during construction? Based on years of construction experience at Shandong Yushun, the following points are summarized.
Currently, the relatively mature installation process for exterior wall mineral wool thermal insulation boards generally consists of the following 6 steps:
Preparation Before Installing Rock Wool External Wall Insulation
Materials entering the construction site must be inspected for completeness, integrity, and weight compliance, accompanied by a test report and product certification.
(2) Prepare equipment at the construction site.
(3) The installation of the window and door opening auxiliary frames has been completed, meeting the construction requirements.
Basic Treatment
Remove wall depressions and unevenness, repair holes (such as scaffolding holes, channel steel holes, wall-penetrating components, etc.), and fill the wall twice with the same base wall material.
Two: Double-sided coating interface agent for external wall mineral wool thermal insulation board
The surface of the qualified exterior rock wool insulation board is coated with an interface agent on both sides, which enhances the surface strength of the insulation board, improves the bonding with the base layer, and ensures higher construction quality.
III. Paste External Wall Rock Wool Insulation Boards
Exterior rock wool thermal insulation boards, coated with adhesive mortar, should be attached from the bottom of the foot or from the bottom of each joint. Then, place the long edges of the boards horizontally and adhere them. The vertical joints should be staggered by half the board length, and the thermal insulation boards at the wall corners should also be staggered to ensure the perpendicularity of the corners. The corners of openings such as doors and windows should be cut and formed with a single board, without any seams. The joints of the thermal insulation boards should be away from the holes. The distance between the corners should be greater than 200mm, and the width of the other exterior thermal insulation boards around the openings should not be less than 200mm.
Section 4: Installation of Glass Fiber Mesh
After securing the fixed exterior wall mineral wool insulation boards, immediately scrape off the board mortar and any remaining adhesive mortar from the sides of the boards; 24 hours later, begin the application of crack-resistant mortar, lay the glass fiber mesh, and place pre-exchanged glass fiber mesh along the edges. Flip the thick packaging over, and complete the construction openings for doors and windows. The glass fiber mesh embedded in the crack-resistant mortar must be fully immersed and not exposed.
V. Laying with crack-resistant mortar
After the rock wool insulation layer's crack-resistant mortar has completely dried, level the mortar. The structure not only ensures the flatness of the rock wool insulation layer but also enhances its crack resistance.
Six, Conducted a quality inspection on the installation of exterior wall mineral wool thermal insulation boards.
After completing the aforementioned construction steps, the rock wool system is ready for acceptance. Acceptance standards: surface flatness of 3MM, and right angles and perpendicularity for the positive and negative corners.
