The safety helmet is composed of three parts: the shell, the lining, and the chin strap.

(1) Helmet Shell: This is the main component of a hard hat, typically featuring an elliptical or hemispherical thin shell structure. (2) Hat Lining: The hat lining refers to the collective term for the parts that directly contact the wearer's head, consisting of the hat band, top band, protective band, support band, sweat band, padding, and tie strings. The lining material can be made from cotton webbing, synthetic fiber webbing, and plastic lining. The hat band is a ring-shaped band that tightly encircles the head when worn, with the front part of the band lined with sweat-absorbent material, offering some sweat-absorbing properties. The hat band ring can be divided into fixed and adjustable bands, and there are two types of hats with or without a back neck band. The top band is the lining that contacts the top of the wearer's head and can be connected to the hat shell with rivets or by inserting the band into the socket of the hat shell. The top band comes in cross-shaped and hexagonal designs, with corresponding sockets for 4 to 6 inserts.

(3) Chin strap: A strap fastened around the chin to secure the helmet, consisting of a strap and a locking clip. Helmets without a back-of-neck band use a "Y" shaped chin strap.
