Chain grate stokers are a type of mechanized combustion equipment widely used in industrial boilers, but they have a certain range of coal types they are suitable for. The combustion method of the chain grate stoker is moving fire bed combustion, with the fuel ignition condition being "limited ignition." Fuel enters the grate through a coal hopper and begins its combustion process as the grate moves. The ash from the burned coal is discharged into the slag pit at the rear of the grate as it moves. Therefore, compared to reciprocating grates, vibrating grates, and bubbling furnaces, chain grate stokers have higher requirements for coal quality. Mechanical throw coal stokers are essentially layer combustion grates with infinite ignition, and they are more adaptable to coal quality.
