How to Pay Attention to the Environmental Performance of Silicone Seals

       Silicone ProductsStretches, resilience, deformation, and tensile strength are all crucial. Materials that meet these performance criteria are generally considered good. O-rings are suitable for installation on various types of machinery and equipment. They provide sealing in static or moving conditions, across specified temperatures, pressures, and different liquid and gas media.
Silicone O-rings are gaining popularity due to their environmental friendliness and wide operating temperature range, which allows for long-term use between -60°C and +200°C.
Silicone O-rings are not oil-resistant and are not suitable for most thickened solvents, oils, silicone button thickening acid, and diluted sodium hydroxide.
Excellent elasticity, tear resistance, and resistance to neutral solvents; superior heat resistance compared to standard rubber, with high wear resistance. It features automatic elastic compensation at the worn areas of the working seal surface, thereby extending the service life of the sealing parts.

Cautionary Notes for Equipment and the Use of Sealing Rings:
(1) To avoid extended usage, rubber sealing components typically have a service life of 3,000 to 5,000 hours. It is advisable to replace them with new seals promptly.
(2) Avoid using old silicone sealing rings. When using new sealing rings, also carefully inspect their surface quality to ensure there are no small holes, protrusions, cracks, or grooves, and confirm they have sufficient elasticity before use.
(3) When replacing the sealing rings, rigorously inspect the sealing ring grooves, clean away debris, and sand the bottom of the grooves.
(4) Do not install in the wrong direction or with damaged lips. Any scratches on the lips exceeding 50μm can lead to significant oil leakage.
(5) Avoid forcing the equipment; do not hammer it in. Instead, use a tool to press the seal into the socket first, then use a simple cylinder to maintain the gasket edge through the spline area. Before the equipment is in place, apply some lubricant to the lip to facilitate installation and prevent burns during initial operation. Ensure cleanliness.
