Silicone ProductsSilicone products have become increasingly common in everyday life. They are more environmentally friendly than plastic, non-toxic and odorless, with excellent temperature resistance and a long service life. Silicone products offer superior performance but are categorized into different grades. For instance, food-grade silicone, extruded silicone, high-temperature-resistant silicone, and odorless silicone, among others. Each grade of silicone serves different purposes and varies significantly in price.
However, most people cannot differentiate between silicone grades, so some unscrupulous manufacturers will pass off substandard silicone products as high-grade, selling them at the price of high-grade silicone. Here's a 3-second method to distinguish between food-grade silicone and regular silicone (highlight, take notes).

This method is quite simple; let's call it the "PULL and PULL Technique," for now.Silicone TubeAs an example, pinch the ends of the silicone tube with your fingers and then pull it apart with force. The presence of white on the silicone tube indicates a standard silicone tube, while the absence of white indicates a food-grade silicone tube.
If encountering items like round cups, we simply "fold" them in half. The area that whitens at the fold is regular silicone, whereas the other side indicates food-grade silicone.
An auxiliary method is to smell. If it pulls apart and becomes white with a pungent odor, it can be determined as regular silicone, not food-grade. However, it's important to note that if it doesn't turn white but still has a faint smell, it is also food-grade. This is due to sulfurization during the manufacturing process of the manufacturer, which does not affect product quality and can be self-eliminated.
