SiliconeButtonIt's more challenging to achieve precision than with plastic parts; this should be thoroughly considered in the specific design, with no areas requiring high accuracy.
If the basic size is too large and cannot meet the required precision for design, the solution can be achieved by using positioning pins and wafer deformation. In areas where dimensional precision is required, the design must allow for ease of mold modification.
Etched Text and Patterns
Trademarks and text can be designed onto the silicone substrates and will be molded simultaneously with the shaped products. The marks and text on the products are of two types: convex and concave. For ease of mold processing, they are generally designed as convex.
For ease of changing markings or model numbers, during mold design, the marking area can be designed as an insert. When the product model changes, only replacing the insert in the mold cavity's marking area is needed to meet the marking replacement requirement. As for the design of such product parts, it should allow for the presence of burr remnants at the edges of the insert pieces in the marking area.
For conductive rubber, the stroke is generally recommended to be between 0.8 to 1.5mm; the exhaust groove (also known as the air pit) is designed to prevent adhesion between the button and the PCB board during operation.
For the touch switch, the stroke depends on the switch's own stroke (and the stroke for preventing accidental operation), as described later. If the substrate does not fit the PCB board, the air channel structure can be omitted.
SiliconeButtonThere's an issue with the tactile sensation of the design; different curves correspond to different tactile experiences. According to experience, the feel is preferable when (FP-FC)/FP is between 40% and 60%.

Silicone KeypadTypical Structural Forms and Applications
Based on the specific application of the button and the specific requirements of the product for the button's lifespan, pressure, and feel, the structure, form, and application of the button are illustrated as follows.
The lifespan of silicone keypad is directly related to the material and the slanted wall structure, determined by design requirements.
Product Silicone Button Lifespan Reference:
Remote Control Category: 500,000 times
Telephones: 1 million times
Laptops: 4 million to 5 million times
Computer Keyboard: 5 to 10 million units
Silicone button lifespan for monitoring products is defined as over 500,000 presses.
The standard lifespan for B-ultrasound silicone buttons is defined as over one million presses.
