What is a Cyclone Sand Separator?

The Cyclone Sand Separator is manufactured based on the screening principle of solid particles in the rotating fluid within the separator. It combines cyclone dust removal and filtration into one unit. It demonstrates remarkable effects in water treatment fields such as sand removal, turbidity reduction, and solid-liquid separation. It is widely used in industrial sectors including water source heat pumps, water treatment, and food industries. Applications include sand removal from river and well water, washing coal water, industrial mineral processing, liquid degassing, and separation of non-miscible liquids.

 

Principle of operation for the cyclone desander:

The Cyclone Sand Separator utilizes the centrifugal separation principle for sand removal. As the inlet pipe is installed at an eccentric position within the cylinder, water passing through the separator's inlet pipe first forms a downward倾斜 peripheral fluid along the cylinder's circumference. The water rotates and moves downward. When it reaches a part of the cone, it rotates upward along the cylinder's axis and is discharged through the outlet pipe. Under the influence of the fluid's inertial centrifugal force and its own gravity, impurities fall along the cone wall into the conical sediment basin at the bottom of the equipment. A component is installed at the lower part of the cone to prevent debris from rising. When the accumulated debris in the sediment basin reaches a certain level, simply opening the manual butterfly valve allows the debris to flow out of the Cyclone Sand Separator under the action of the water flow.

The Cyclone Sand Separator operates based on the principles of centrifugal sedimentation and density difference. When water flows tangentially into the equipment at a certain pressure through the separator inlet, it generates a strong rotational motion. Due to the differing densities of sand and water, combined with centrifugal force, centripetal force, buoyancy, and fluid resistance, the water rises and is discharged through the outlet, while the high-density sand is discharged from the bottom of the equipment through the drain outlet, achieving the sand removal purpose.
