Styrofoam Sheets – also known as Foam Sheets or EPS Sheets, are white objects made from expandable polystyrene beads containing volatile foam agents. After being pre-expanded by heating and then molded in molds, they feature a micro-porous closed-cell structure. They are primarily used for building wall insulation, roof insulation, composite panel insulation, thermal insulation for cold storage, air conditioning, vehicles, ships, floor heating, and decorative carving, among other applications.
1. Protect the main structure of the building to extend its lifespan. External thermal insulation, by placing the insulation layer on the outside of the structure, reduces the pressure caused by structural deformation due to temperature changes, and minimizes the erosion of the structure by harmful substances in the air and ultraviolet rays.
2. Effectively eliminates "thermal bridges" by using internal insulation. While "thermal bridges" are unavoidable, external wall insulation effectively prevents their formation, thus avoiding condensation.
3. Improves the wall's moisture condition; generally, an air barrier is required for internal insulation. However, the permeability of external insulation materials is significantly stronger than the main structure, preventing condensation inside the wall. This raises the entire wall's structural layer temperature, further enhancing its thermal insulation properties.
4. Helps maintain stable room temperature; utilizes external wall insulation. The structure layer with high heat storage capacity, located on the inner side of the wall, contributes to the stability of the room temperature.
5. Increase the usable area of the house. This can prevent damage to the insulation layer from secondary renovation.
