In the process of coil production, most steel processing for coil production involves pressure processing of the steel (slabs, ingots, etc.) to induce plastic deformation. Depending on the processing temperature of the steel used for coil production, it is categorized into cold working and hot working. The main processing methods for steel used in coil production include:

Rolling: A pressure processing method that involves reducing the cross-section of steel billets used for coiled pipes by passing them through the gap between a pair of rotating rolling mills (various shapes), which compresses the material, resulting in increased length. This is the most commonly used production method for steel used in coiled pipes, primarily for producing profile steel, sheet steel, and pipe steel. It is divided into cold rolling and hot rolling.

Forging steel for rolled tubes: A pressure processing method that utilizes the reciprocating impact force of a forging hammer or the pressure of a press to change the billet into the required shape and size. Generally divided into free forging and die forging, commonly used for producing large-section rolled tube materials with larger cross-sectional dimensions such as billets for production.

Steel used for drawing coil pipes: It is a process of reducing the cross-section and increasing the length of rolled metal billets (shapes, pipes, products, etc.) by pulling them through die holes, commonly used in cold working.

Extrusion: This is a processing method where steel for coil tubing is placed in a closed extrusion chamber, pressure is applied at one end, causing the metal to be extruded through a specified die, resulting in finished products with the same shape and dimensions. It is commonly used in the production of steel for extruded non-ferrous metal tubing.
