The choice of arch materials for vegetable greenhouse construction is relatively fixed, with two common types: one primarily made of bamboo poles and wood, and the other made of hot-dipped galvanized thin-walled steel pipes.
Greenhouses constructed using bamboo poles and wood as the arch materials are quite common. The advantages include easy sourcing of materials, convenient construction, and low costs, with an investment of around 2,000 to 3,000 yuan per mu. However, the drawback of low cost is the poor arch strength and snow-bearing capacity, as well as the tendency of wood and bamboo poles to rot, necessitating annual repairs and replacements, making operation and management less convenient.
