In the modern greenhouse structures currently under construction, solar greenhouses, glass greenhouses, and plastic film greenhouses are common types. Which type of greenhouse has better insulation performance?
We all know that temperature is a basic condition for the normal growth of agricultural crops, and a greenhouse is a type of agricultural facility designed to maintain a suitable environment for the normal growth of crops. Insulation is an important task in greenhouse agricultural production.
To determine which covering material has better insulation properties, we selected two greenhouses located near the 35th parallel north for testing in late March, one with glass and the other with a connected plastic film greenhouse. Without any artificial heating, we measured and recorded the indoor temperatures in both greenhouses every hour under different weather conditions.
Our practical analysis reveals that plastic greenhouses exhibit significant temperature increases during the day and noticeable decreases at night, with poor insulation at night. In contrast, glass greenhouses demonstrate superior insulation both during the day and at night compared to plastic greenhouses. The thermal insulation of glass greenhouses surpasses that of plastic greenhouses.
Glass greenhouse features attractive and innovative design, excellent light transmission properties.
