The screw press is a type of sludge dewatering machine, used for concentrating and dewatering sludge to achieve the purpose of sludge discharge, and to effectively carry out environmentally friendly and non-hazardous treatment.
The main applications of our screw press are in sludge dewatering systems across various industries such as municipal wastewater treatment, petrochemicals, leather and textiles, food and breeding, and steel casting. Particularly effective for oily sludge and activated sludge, it achieves an effective moisture content of 80% in sludge dewatering. Depending on the nature of the sludge, some models can reach as low as 60% or even lower.
What is the working principle, then?
The process primarily consists of three steps: sludge is pumped into the mixing tank, then enters the screw press for concentration and dewatering, and finally, the dewatered sludge is discharged through the pressure plate. The dewatering stage includes two parts: sludge concentration and sludge dewatering. The sludge concentration section is within the screw press, where the pitch of the screw is larger at the bottom, gradually decreasing towards the top, and the pressure increases. Under the continuous reciprocating motion and compression of the moving and fixed rings, the sludge is discharged through the obstruction of the pressure plate.
Advantages of the Screw Compactor
1. Cost-effective: The small screw press is priced at just a few tens of thousands, significantly cheaper than traditional mud presses, which can cost up to a hundred thousand.
2. Continuous Operation: The machine can run 24/7 without interruption. Once the parameters are set properly and the PLC system is configured to the manufacturer's specifications, a significant reduction in manual labor is achievable.
3. High-Quality Product: The screw press is constructed with 304 stainless steel, significantly enhancing its wear and durability, typically lasting for at least three to five years.
4. Broad Application: Capable of handling sludge from nearly all industries, with particularly good performance in the treatment of activated sludge.
