Porous bricks, known as Dutch bricks, boast excellent permeability and are widely used in urban road construction. If you're unfamiliar with the construction techniques and quality control standards during the process, join us to get to know them better.
Requirements for the Base Layer: The method for the base layer can be operated in accordance with relevant technical specifications. After the base layer is leveled, it should be compacted using manual or mechanical rollers, followed by soil compaction.
Sub-base Requirements: The sub-base can be chosen from sand and stone sub-base or cement-lime-sand sub-base. The thickness of the pedestrian walkway sub-base should be between 100-150mm, while the thickness of the vehicle path sub-base should be between 150-200mm. Regardless of the type of sub-base used, the materials must comply with the specifications for ground construction. The sand and stone should primarily ensure that neither the sand nor the stone contains any muddy components.
Requirements for non-sand concrete base layer: Roadways or parking lots should have a non-sand concrete layer laid on top of a sand and stone or lime concrete base, with a thickness of 80-150mm. The mixing ratio for non-sand concrete should be cement 1: water 0.2: gravel 6. The gravel size should be reasonably distributed between 5-20mm. The gravel must be washed clean and free of stone dust. Dry mixed non-sand concrete should be compacted manually or mechanically to achieve a certain degree of density.
Leveling layer (adhesive layer) requirements: Use medium or coarse sand mixed with 10% white lime and spread it evenly (do not use cement). For sidewalks, sand is sufficient, with a thickness of 15-20mm.
Installation Requirements: The installation should be carried out according to the construction specifications, and the gaps between the tiles can be filled by sweeping sand into them with a broom after installation.
There are certain differences in the construction techniques for permeable bricks in various locations. The above content is for reference only and should be designed reasonably according to different sites. If there are any shortcomings, we appreciate your feedback.
