LSD50/200CType Solid-State Decoupler

I. Overview

As the use of cathodic protection technology for buried steel pipelines becomes more widespread, the stability of the cathodic protection systems is also a major concern. However, in real production and daily life, electromagnetic interference is omnipresent, and its impact on the cathodic protection systems for pipelines is also significant. Instances of electromagnetic interference causing the failure of cathodic protection functions, accelerating corrosion, and damaging impressed current equipment are not uncommon. Therefore, addressing interference issues has become one of the crucial problems in cathodic protection systems. The commonly adopted method to solve electromagnetic interference is to install drainage devices on the pipeline, which can effectively resolve the interference and maintain the pipeline potential at a reliable level. Nevertheless, existing drainage devices also have certain limitations, such as their inability to withstand strong energy disturbances like direct lightning currents and induced lightning currents.Solid-state decouplers effectively address fault grounding short-circuit currents in high-voltage lines, grounding currents introduced from lightning strikes on overhead transmission lines, and stray currents generated when trains pass over railway tracks. This product protects against overvoltage or overcurrent caused by the aforementioned situations, preventing pipeline cathodic protection from being affected and safeguarding against increased corrosion due to electromagnetic interference, providing effective protection for pipeline equipment.

Nine: Maintain

This product is maintenance-free; however, an increase in direct lightning strikes or other high-current impacts (exceeding)15(Paragraph), there is a possibility of product deterioration, which means the product may be damaged and cease to function. The product should be regularly opened to check the resistance at both ends of the product's wiring terminals. If the resistance is at the ohm level, the product should be promptly repaired or replaced.
