Product Name: Zinc Anode
Product Specifications: Zinc anodes in various shapes are available upon customer request, including rectangular, square, bracelet-style, and other custom shapes.
The cathodic protection method for zinc anodes involves connecting a metal or alloy that is more likely to lose electrons to the steel equipment. For instance, this technique is applied to protect steel sluice gates. It utilizes a more reactive metal, such as zinc, attached to the steel gates. Consequently, during electrochemical corrosion, the more reactive metal, not the iron, undergoes corrosion, thereby protecting the iron. Typically, a certain number of zinc blocks are installed at the stern of ships and below the waterline on the hull to prevent corrosion of the hull and other components, which is an application of this method. Currently, electrochemical protection is used not only for the protection of steel equipment in seawater or river environments but also for preventing corrosion in cables, oil pipelines, underground equipment, and chemical equipment.
