Composition of Cable Recycling Products
1. The conductor is the main component of the wire and cable recycling, which is the core element enabling the product to perform its intended function. It is responsible for transmitting electricity or conveying information, as it requires the passage of current or the transmission of electromagnetic waves through the conductor. The conductor is an essential, fundamental main component for the product's function of transmitting current or electromagnetic information. For optical cables, the conductor is the fiber optic, which transmits light waves.
2. The insulation layer of electrical wires and cables. It is a component that wraps around the outer circumference of the conductor, serving as an electrical insulator. It ensures that the transmitted current or electromagnetic waves, and light waves only travel along the conductor without spreading outward. It isolates the potential (i.e., the potential difference formed with surrounding objects, or voltage) on the conductor, thus ensuring both the normal transmission function of the wire and the safety of external objects and people.
3. Wire and Cable Composition: Many wire and cable products are multicore. After these insulated cores or pairs are stranded (or grouped and stranded multiple times), the resulting cable has an irregular shape and leaves significant gaps between the insulated cores. Therefore, a filling structure must be added during the stranding process to achieve a more round cable diameter, which is beneficial for wrapping and extruding sheath materials.
4. Shielding Composition of Wire and Cable. It is a component that isolates the electromagnetic field within the cable product from the external electromagnetic field; some cable products also require isolation between different pairs (or groups) of wires internally. One could say that the shielding layer is a "sheet of electromagnetic isolation."
5. The sheath component of wire and cable assembly. It is a structural element that provides overall protection to the product, particularly to the insulation. Due to the high electrical insulation performance required of the insulation material, the purity of the materials used is very high and the content of impurities is extremely low, often making it difficult to balance its protective capabilities against the external environment. Therefore, the ability to withstand or resist various mechanical forces from the external environment (i.e., installation and usage scenarios), resistance to atmospheric conditions, chemical substances, protection against biological or harmful elements, and reduction of fire hazards are all responsibilities of various sheath structures. Hence, the sheath is a guaranteeing component that ensures the long-term normal operation of wire and cable under various external environmental conditions.
