What is the function of high and low voltage switches on a 10-ton bipolar reverse osmosis equipment?

Reverse osmosis equipment with high/low pressure protection is designed to prevent the RO high-pressure pump from running empty or operating under excessive high/low pressure conditions.

High-pressure switches are used for high-voltage protection. As the usage time of reverse osmosis equipment increases, the RO membrane can become polluted and clogged, leading to an increase in the pressure of the imported natural membrane. When the pressure reaches a certain level, a high-pressure switch is required to protect the water treatment equipment from damage. Once the pressure reaches the preset value of the pressure switch, the reverse osmosis equipment will be forced to shut down.

For low-pressure switchgear, when the pressure inside the incoming water pipe is low, the RO reverse osmosis membrane cannot operate normally, and wastewater will be discharged continuously. Therefore, when the incoming water pressure does not meet the operational requirements, the circuit will be disconnected, and the reverse osmosis equipment will cease operation. Once the pressure inside the incoming water pipe meets the operational requirements, the system will resume operation.

How to Adjust the Pressure Switch of a Water Treatment Reverse Osmosis System?

The low-pressure switch features two adjustable screws: one for the base pressure regulation, typically ranging from 0-6bar, and another for the differential pressure regulation, usually from 0-2bar, which can be adjusted according to the tool.

Common low-pressure switches often have two types of jumps: one is due to significant fluctuations in the raw water pressure, and the other occurs when the reference pressure is close to the raw water pressure value, with a smaller hysteresis pressure.

Original Water Pressure Fluctuation Solution.

Exhaust Pretreatment Equipment. Increasing the opening of the raw water pump outlet valve to achieve a relatively higher raw water pressure, which is less prone to fluctuations.

Xiaohui Differential Pressure Solution

Firstly, observe the pressure of the reverse osmosis equipment during normal operation, adjusting the base pressure slightly below 2.5 bar, then set the base pressure to 2 bar.

2. Set the pressure value for the low-pressure trip, for instance, the pressure switch starts to jump when the raw water pressure is below 1.5 bar; then adjust the back pressure difference to 0.5 bar.

3. Although adjustments have been made, the precision varies. Therefore, adjustments should be made based on the actual pressure conditions before meeting internal requirements. For instance, absorption occurs at 2bar pressure, while skipping happens at 1.5bar pressure (at this point, pressure can be regulated by adjusting the high-pressure pump valve or the original pump outlet valve).

4. To achieve a greater pressure differential, you can also adjust the differential pressure to 0.8-1.0 bar. This way, the system can absorb at 2 bar and bypass when the pressure falls below 1 bar.
