The 1010/1015 carbon steel ball is a common type known for its low price and high hardness, with a wide range of applications. Typically used in bicycles, bearings, pulleys, slides, crafts, shelves, swivel balls, luggage, and small hardware items, it can also be used for grinding other media.

Features:

Magnetic, with ferrite microstructure, usually oil-packed; typically electroplated when exposed to the outside, options include zinc, gold, nickel, chrome plating, etc.; high wear resistance, HRC 50-55. 

Comparison:

Compared to bearing steel balls, the wear resistance and hardness are not as good (the hardness of GCR15 steel balls is HRC60-66): thus, the lifespan of carbon steel balls is relatively shorter.
