After forming through rolling of the precision piston rod, a cold worked hardening layer is formed on the surface post-rolling. This reduces contact with the surface due to grinding, and also decreases deformation in plasticity and elasticity, significantly enhancing the wear resistance of the product surface. It also prevents burns caused by grinding, lowering the surface roughness after rolling treatment. Moreover, it can improve the properties appropriately and reduce frictional damage to seals and sealing parts, while significantly extending the lifespan of the cylinder.
Roll-forming technology is a highly efficient and high-quality process measure. Taking a precision piston rod with a diameter of 16mm as a case study, it can result in significant changes in surface roughness after being treated by roll-forming.
