The bidirectional thrust ball bearing includes a shaft ring, two races, and two ball-retainer assemblies. The bearing is separable, with each component independently installable. The bidirectional bearing is designed for...Uni-directional BearingThe same shaft collar, bearing seat, and steel ball retainer components are used.
The one-way thrust bearing typically consists of a row of steel balls (with retainers), a race collar (tightly fitted to the shaft), and a seat ring. The seat ring has a gap with the shaft and is tightly fitted to the bearing housing bore. The steel balls rotate in the space between the race collar and seat ring. Primarily, it can only withstand axial loads in one direction and cannot bear radial loads at all. Since the axial load is evenly distributed across each ball, the load capacity of the one-way flat thrust ball bearing is quite substantial; however, due to a significant temperature rise during operation, its maximum allowable speed is not very high.
