Note: One of the important matters to note is:
Before opening the septic tank cover, ventilate the area for 10 to 15 minutes. Do not stand near the tank, and prevent lighting fires, smoking, or using mobile phones nearby to avoid the risk of methane ignition or explosion. Due to the long-term sealed environment inside the septic tank, there is a significant amount of fecal water and sludge, which, through chemical reactions, produce a lot of methane. If ventilation is not conducted before opening the cover, there is a risk of poisoning due to the high concentration of methane.
Note of Caution Two:
Employees must not enter the pool to work to avoid poisoning or drowning. If it is unavoidable, they must wear a gas mask, put on chemical protective clothing, and take appropriate safety measures. Since the septic tank is filled with mixed debris, its depth and size are not clearly defined. It is usually cleaned by a professional sewage pump truck before any work is done inside. If entering the pool for work is absolutely necessary, proper protective measures must be taken before entering.
Note Three:
After the septic tank cover is opened, staff must not leave the scene. Once cleaning is complete, the cover should be closed promptly to prevent pedestrians from falling in and suffering accidents. A safety check must also be conducted to ensure the cover is properly sealed. Additionally, any debris on the road surface should be cleared, with sweeping where necessary and cleaning where required. Furthermore, the cover should be clearly marked as a sewage well.
