Edge and corner hollowing
The repair can be conducted using the side grouting method, with the specific procedures as follows:
Gently scrape along the edges of the tiles with a shovel.
2. Inject pre-mixed thin cement or patching adhesive.
3. While grouting, gently tap with a rubber hammer until the tile gaps are filled.
The purpose of the rubber mallet is to flatten tiles, ensuring no gaps between the tiles and the wall.
(II) Partial hollowing
If only a minor localized hollow sound is present, the side grouting method is still applicable. First, gently tap the tiles loose at the hollow area, then inject cement or repair adhesive into the bonding layer of the tiles. Just use something heavy to press the tiles flat, and wait for the cement adhesive to dry and solidify.
(3) Central hollowing
There are two methods to choose from. One involves using tile suction cups to grip loose tiles, removing them from the wall, and then reattaching them using cement adhesive.
However, many people don't have suction cups at home, so we recommend an alternative method: chiseling the tile. This involves using a small water drill to create a small hole in the hollowed area of the tile, then carefully lifting the tile along its edges with a chisel until it is fully loose. This ensures the surrounding tiles remain undamaged. Once the faulty tile is removed, simply replace it with a new one.
