Glass钢管, also known as Reinforced Plastic Mat (RPM) pipes, are primarily made with glass fiber and its products as reinforcement materials, with basic materials including unsaturated polyester resin, epoxy resin, etc., with inorganic non-metallic granular materials such as quartz sand and calcium carbonate as fillers. The pipe lengths are available in 6m and 12m, and the manufacturing methods include fixed-length winding, centrifugal casting, and continuous winding. The pipes are categorized based on the production method, pressure class PN, and stiffness class SN.
Glass steel pipes have found applications in industries such as oil, electricity, chemical, papermaking, urban water supply and drainage, factory wastewater treatment, seawater desalination, and gas transportation, thanks to their smooth inner surface, low energy consumption during transportation, ease of transportation and installation, low maintenance costs, and overall low cost.
As China's urbanization accelerates, facing the balance and protection of population, resources, and the environment, there is a year-on-year increase in investment in urban infrastructure. In line with the needs of science and technology, the variety and specifications of piping and fittings are continually expanding, with production volumes increasing. Especially, the development of plastic pipes is rapid, with glass-steel pipes being one of them.
