New thin-walled stainless steel piping for water supply is a hygienic and reliable choice for home installation and healthy drinking water systems, offering strong impact resistance and emerging as a new option in the market. The government is actively promoting this material. Of course, everyone has seen finished cold and hot water pipes. Many have also seen the connection methods of PPR water pipes, but few have witnessed the actual production process of water pipes.
One: Process Technology for Thin-Wall Stainless Steel Water Pipes
1. Rolling and Welding
Firstly, the stainless steel strip undergoes various quality inspections and is trimmed at the edges. Then, the stainless steel processing factory sends them into a tube mill. The strips are passed through multiple rollers to the desired size. Inside the tube mill, the strip gradually transforms into a tube shape. Subsequently, the assembled welding machine is TIG-welded to the decorative edge of the strip. The Tibo machine instantly removes the excess material and internal welds. In this manner, rolled tubes and pipes are formed.
2. Cleaning and Heating Stage
The stainless steel pipes manufactured in this manner are cut to the required length according to industrial specifications. The pipes are then cleaned to remove any dirt. In addition, the rolled pipes are heat-treated to eliminate stresses that may occur due to the welding and forming processes. Heat treatment is conducted on a continuous rolling furnace bed, equipped with temperature recorders and controllers. After the heat treatment, the SS pipes are straightened and acid-washed to remove scale from the surface.
3. Cold Drawing Process
In certain cases, it may not be possible to directly obtain the required dimensions from the mill. In such instances, the cold operation process can be used to achieve the desired size. During the cold drawing process, the tube or pipe is coated with an oxalic acid and soap solution. This solution acts as a lubricant to reduce friction during the cold drawing operation. In the cold drawing process, a die plug is used to pull the tube or pipe onto the workbench.
4. Organizing Process
The pipes or tubes are cleaned, heat-treated, pickled, and straightened. A computerized ink-jet marking machine is used to label finished tubes or tubes. Before being delivered to the stainless steel tube exporters, the pipes or tubes are marked with material grade, dimensions, heat number, and third-party inspection marks. The stainless steel tubes or tubes produced are then subjected to certain tests and quality inspections. Appropriate packaging and dispatch follow this process.
