The improved high-temperature stability and increased viscosity and cohesion of asphalt are achieved due to the three-dimensional distribution of polyester fiber filaments, which also exhibit strong adsorption to asphalt without tangling. This allows for the adsorption of excessive free asphalt, enhancing the asphalt's viscosity and cohesion. Additionally, the reinforcing and bridging effects of the crisscrossed structure reduce the asphalt's flowability, limiting the lateral displacement or flow of aggregates. This effectively improves the high-temperature stability and significantly enhances the stability of fiber asphalt concrete.

2. Enhanced low-temperature crack resistance and the adsorption of fibers to asphalt result in increased asphalt content in asphalt concrete. The higher asphalt content ensures that the fiber asphalt mixture maintains flexibility and high tensile strength at -40℃. This effectively resists shrinkage stresses, strengthens the mixture's low-temperature crack resistance, reduces the occurrence of temperature shrinkage cracks, and can prevent the development of reflective cracks.

3. Improved fatigue resistance asphalt pavements, under the influence of external temperature conditions and repeated wheel loads, will eventually exceed the structural resistance when the stress generated within the pavement under load surpasses the strength degradation. This leads to cracking and fatigue failure. The addition of polyester fibers, with their uniformly distributed reinforcing effect in the mixture, increases the modulus of elasticity, thereby enhancing the asphalt concrete's fatigue resistance.

The enhanced water stability of asphalt road surfaces refers to their ability to withstand repeated traffic loads and temperature expansion and contraction in the presence of water. The addition of polyester fibers thickens the asphalt film, reduces the strength of water displacing asphalt, decreases the amount of water渗入 asphalt concrete, and, due to the fibers' adsorption, increases the viscosity of asphalt. This strengthens the bonding force between asphalt and aggregates, enhancing the interface film's resistance to water stripping in asphalt mixtures, thereby improving the water stability of the asphalt mixture.
