During the construction process, rain may occur. What should we pay attention to when working in the rain to ensure safe construction? Today, let's take a look at the precautions to be taken when carrying out steel structure construction during rainy weather.
1. When working in the rain, set up a temporary protective shed to prevent rainwater from falling onto the molten welds. If the welding area is damp, clean it with a dry cloth. Before welding, use an oxygen-acetylene flame to bake the joint to maintain dryness and avoid moisture. 2. When lifting, if there is standing water on the components, clean them thoroughly before installation, but do not damage the coating. During installation, the friction surface of the components should be kept clean, free of water droplets, and must not be exposed to rain, contact with soil, oil, or other contaminants.
When weather is overcast or rainy, components should not be painted.
4. Roof insulation work cannot be conducted in rainy weather or during strong winds of grade 5 or above.
5. Due to high humidity during rainy weather, welding rods should be stored in a moisture-proof environment and subjected to baking. However, the number of re-baking sessions for the same welding rod should not exceed two times. Managers need to ensure timely record-keeping of the baking process. When constructing steel structures in the rain, attention should be given to the following matters:
For steel structures in rainy weather, in the event of strong wind conditions, large components such as columns, beams, and supports should be immediately corrected in position. Once the positioning is corrected, they should be promptly secured to prevent lateral instability and insecurely installed components.
