    In actual use of pipeline floats, the following five inspections should be conducted on the floats (buoyancy, overall weight, plastic shell plasticization, foam density inside, and float foaming holes) to determine the quality of the floats.

    Buoyancy of the float: Generally required to be more than 30% of the pipeline's own weight (including mud with a specific gravity of 1.3), with the pipeline exposed above water level being approximately 1/4 of the steel pipe's height during operation.

    2. Total Buoyancy Weight: Not less than 3-5% of the order parameters, as the buoyancy weight is related to the shell weight of the buoy and the density and volume of the buoy foam. Buoys that are too light may not guarantee the strength of the plastic shell and the density of the foam. The foam density should be around 35 kg/cubic meter.

    3. Plasticization Degree of Buoyant Shell: The interior of well-plasticized buoyant shells should be smooth and even with no visible granular material; at this point, the plastic shell has good *tensile* properties.

    4. Density of foam filling: Generally should be around 35 kg/cubic meter, with tensile strength at about 0.2 MPA; slight elasticity, not sticky or brittle is considered qualified; only buoyant bodies that meet these product standards are truly good, durable ones.

    5. Buoyancy foam holes: Welds must be secure; re-weld any leaky holes.
