The alcohol spray lamp combustion test is a crucial basis for measuring the flame-retardant properties of flame-retardant steel wire rope牵引bands, and it is also an important item for testing. The testing methods and determinations are both carried out in accordance with MT449-1995. In general tests, the following simplified method can be adopted:

At 50mm distance from the ear slot, 24 cross-section specimens without metallic transverse parts were cut directly using a cutting blade on a vulcanizer (or any other pressurizing machine). Twelve of these specimens were then processed by abrasion to remove their upper and lower coverings.

Remove the upper groove from the fire-retardant steel wire rope牵引band (ensure the cutting surface is flat), then cut it into six specimens, each 150mm in length.

Remove the lower groove from the fire-retardant steel wire rope strap (ensure the cut surface is smooth), then cut it into six specimens, each 150mm long.

④ Specimens should be placed horizontally, with the lower end 50mm above the flame outlet of the alcohol burner, which is positioned vertically. The test is conducted in a combustion chamber under dim light, where the alcohol burner is lit and its flame height is adjusted to 150-180mm, with a fuel consumption of 2.55mL/min ± 0.15mL/min.

During testing, the air flow around the specimen should be minimized to prevent affecting the flame of the burning specimen. The fuel level in the container should be maintained within a range of 760mm ± 20mm from the bottom of the alcohol burner, with the specimen positioned in the center of the flame, its leading edge aligning with the outer edge of the flame, and perpendicular to the door of the combustion chamber.

⑥ During testing, place the test piece in the flame for 30 seconds, then remove the unextinguished alcohol burner, and start timing the duration of both flaming and non-flaming combustion on the test piece using a stopwatch with a small division of 0.01 seconds from this moment.
