A city public seating survey resonates with some readers. Some have noted that public seating in bus shelters often lacks convenience. Facilities meant to provide ease of use are now uncomfortable, and readers hope authorities can promptly fix them to make waiting for buses more comfortable.

The waiting seat actually lacks a seat cushion.

At the Xiaoyueyuan 2nd Lane bus stop in Fengtai District, the waiting shelter stands out from the usual ones. It features a relatively spacious canopy supported by two pillars on either side, with a row of seats reserved in the center. However, the long seat made of several iron bars is completely empty, lacking any seat panels, except for the iron bars along the edges.

Noticing, a man was perched on the edge of a seat, and upon closer inspection, it turned out he was sitting at the joint of two vertical iron rods. The man waiting for the train, with a hint of frustration, commented, "The design of these seats is incredibly unreasonable! To sit and wait for the bus, one has to make do at the joint of the iron rods, but the space is extremely cramped. Young people might manage, but for older individuals, it's just a matter of longing for what's not there."

Rainy Days Mean Wet Seats and Hard to Find a Spot: "When it rains, you can't even sit on this bench!" On the morning of April 4th, amidst a fine drizzle, several passengers waiting at Xiaoyueyuan 1st Bus Stop, located on the west side of Xiaoyuezhong Road, where buses 77 and 96 stop, sighed as they watched the wet benches. The waiting shelter has a unique, three-dimensional, colored cylinder design, which looks quite innovative. The roof is made up of four rounded arch-shaped panels, with two benches underneath. However, one of the panels above the southern bench is now missing, conveniently right above one of the waiting seats.

Due to the rain that day, the seats were soaked, and passengers waiting for the bus couldn't sit and wait. Perhaps due to the long-term exposure to the rain, there were quite a few rust spots on the seats. A nearby resident said that the roof of the waiting shelter has been partially damaged for several months, which is both unattractive and has lost its function of providing shade and shelter from the rain. However, no one has come to fix it. "Once the rainy season in Beijing arrives, there's no way to seek shelter inside." Passengers are calling for the immediate repair of the missing panels of the shelter's roof to facilitate waiting for the bus.
