North American Explosion Proof Certification
The North American explosion-proof certification system (hereinafter referred to as NEC system [NEC: National Electrical Code]) differs significantly from our country's explosion-proof certification system under the support of the national standards (hereinafter referred to as GB system) in aspects such as the classification and grouping of explosive materials, the division of hazardous areas, explosion-proof protection methods, and installation wiring. Currently, North American explosion-proof certification is divided into two major systems: Division and Zone. The Division system uses the domestic explosion-proof marking of the United States, while the Zone system adopts explosion-proof standards consistent with the IEC system.
Division of explosion-proof zones in explosive gas environments
The hazardous areas are divided into explosive gas environments and combustible dust environments based on the different states of substances present in the location. According to the duration of presence of the hazardous substances in the location, the hazardous areas under the two different states are further divided into three zones.
That is: for explosive gas environments, Zones 0, 1, and 2.
Zones 0: Areas where explosive gas atmospheres occur continuously or for prolonged periods, typically over 1000 hours per year.
Zone 1 - Areas where explosive gas environments may occur during normal operation, typically 10-1000 occurrences/year.
Zone 2 - Under normal operation, explosive gas environments are not possible or only occur occasionally for a short duration, typically less than 10 hours per year.
Can ODM/OEM companies apply for explosion-proof certification and explosion-proof 3C certification? What are the requirements?
Many clients are asking whether their products are OEM produced, ODM branded, or purchased.
Can you handle explosion-proof certification or explosion-proof 3C certification?
Here, China Nuoding Inspection introduces the requirements and conditions for obtaining the explosion-proof certificate and the explosion-proof 3C certification.
If applying for an explosion-proof certification, the company only needs to provide the product's design drawings and samples.
No requirements for a production factory. Therefore, whether it's OEM, ODM, or products purchased directly,
As long as the required drawings and samples for certification are provided, a防爆合格证 can be issued.
Of course, the provided drawings and samples must comply with the requirements of the explosion-proof certification standards.
To obtain the explosion-proof 3C certification, compared to the explosion-proof qualification certificate, it also requires a factory audit and an annual supervision and evaluation.
Therefore, applicants must have their own manufacturing factory/OEM/ODM facility. The application process is also more complex and the cost higher, with a longer timeline.
ZhongNuo Inspection has been deeply involved in the explosion-proof field for many years, well-versed in the requirements of the GB/T 3836 series standards.
Extensive experience in the design and modification guidance for explosion-proof products.
We offer a one-stop service for explosion-proof certification, including design modification, drawing evaluation, certification acquisition, factory audit, and explosion-proof 3C certification.
We boast an extensive portfolio of case studies and experience; feel free to DM us!
Domestic Explosion-Proof Certification
Domestic explosion-proof certification is a compliance examination conducted on explosion-proof products used in explosive environments (including electrical and non-electrical products), issuing an explosion-proof certificate for those that meet the GB/T3836 standard. Currently, the domestic explosion-proof certification standards are essentially equivalent to the international IEC60079 standard system.
