Mining high-tensile round link chains with connecting linksCompact ChainChain links, also known as "chain links" or "connecting rings," are a critical component of mining scraper conveyors. They are also the most vulnerable part of the entire machine, bearing frequent impact loads and directly contacting the material.
To ensure the high reliability and long lifespan of the ring chain operated with a connecting link, it is essential to conduct regular maintenance and protection of the connecting link. This is to ensure the normal operating environment of the connecting link, prevent abnormal stress on the chain links, and crucially, ensure the normal engagement between the ring chain, connecting link, and the sprocket.
As the chain, chain sprocket, and link wear during operation, their meshing connection also continuously changes. In equipment operation protection, attention must be paid to their operating conditions. If the chain and link cannot mesh normally, it is necessary to carefully analyze the cause and, if necessary, replace the link or chain sprocket. If frequent shutdowns occur due to chain breakage, it is necessary to replace all chains and chain sprockets.
Other Considerations for Link Chain Inspection and Protection
Ensure the correct installation direction of the link ring, install the spacer piece in the proper location, align the directional markers in a straight line, and do not insert any components between the link rings.
2. If bolts are present, ensure they are in the correct position and securely tightened.
3. Inspections are conducted every three months or upon completion of a certain amount of coal throughput (if used for a transfer conveyor, inspections are carried out monthly).
4. Regularly inspect factors such as accidental damage and corrosion to link rings, promptly replace damaged link rings to prevent chain breakage incidents and, at the same time, safeguard the integrity of the entire machine.
5. Chain Link Manufacturing Quality Issues: Poor quality in chain link manufacturing is one of the causes for chain breakage incidents. For instance, if the design of the chain link is compromised with substandard materials or if there are issues with the manufacturing process, or if there are impurities within the chain link, these quality issues can lead to operational problems with the scraper machine.
