Property: Specific gravity1.69 is hygroscopic and tends to cake when stored in the air for a long time; its dehydration temperature is 86.5°C. It is soluble in water, acids, and alkalis but not in alcohol. Its aqueous solution is acidic and has a tart, astringent taste. It begins to decompose at 530°C and is fully decomposed by 860°C, with the final decomposition product being r-Al2O3.
Application Fields
This product is primarily used in drinking water treatment, high-grade paper manufacturing, post-treatment of titanium dioxide, and as a catalyst carrier. It can also serve as a foam fire extinguisher, a flame retardant for insulation materials, an additive for refractory materials, and as raw material for artificial gemstones.
